Google says it has achieved “quantum supremacy.” What does this mean? Is Bitcoin’s cryptography now broken? Keep calm, carry on.

Awesome explanation!!! isn't Satoshi's game theory so powerful?! bitcoin's growth in size is so well designed!!
Awesome…thanks for educating us
Btw…i have a theory, 3 japanese men who can be named, who shared 1mil btc then sold btc or probably gave it to the american cryptographers to take over and develop. These same japanese also wrote the white paper for Quantum Encryption…? their names are used to create the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto, maybe given in respect…
A. A. Thank you once again!
I propose a crypto currency based on quantum mechanics. Unlimited and instant transactions because the sender and receiver address are entangled. It doesn't even require a physical mining network and blocktime – only space. We will know if someone tries to hack a transaction because schroedingers cat dies.
The only person with integrity that I truly trust in crypto Ledgend !!!!:)
Feels like the quantum computer story was a way for the whales to drop the BTC price in order to buy it on the cheap IMO
Thanks for the info Andreas.
If a signature scheme is broken, can an adversary listen to unconfirmed transactions and spend the funds before the original transaction gets confirmed?
Greetings from SN living in Chile.
You are awesome.
0:11 that's a well-known term that was coined by John Preskill
Wonderful ?
It's still unknown if quantum computers can even be scaled up beyond a certain number of qubits without succumbing to decoherence. Each additional qubit adds an exponential amount of difficulty.
Another beauty of bitcoin is that the game theory and incentives are designed as such that any adversary who was able to crack its encryption would still be better off mining and securing the network rather than hacking and double spending and destroying the value of the network.
Thank you 🙂 I was not afraid of it, nobody can hack or turn off Bitcoin!
Govt. agencies don't need to attack btc with quantum computers to make a buck or two as they already own the money printing presses… QE➡️♾
Finally i understood why a address is more likely to be compromised after you’ve spent from it! I was missing the fact that when you spend from it it gets revealed unhashed instead of hashed as when it receives!!
Cryptography is so damn beautiful as complex! I really should start learning about it more
Thanks as Always, Andreas. I had also seen from Peter Todd his analysis that includes the harnessing additional Qubits may be with increased, even exponential difficulty
Quantum fluctuation may or may not deposit 5000 BTC in my wallet at any given point of time. That remain a possibility until I observe my wallet balance.
This way I find it comforting to not look at my wallet balance.
Thank you Andreas. I am watching your videos and they inspire me a lot. I like the way you teach. Keep on giving 🙂
Funny how no one says "yea, but fiat currency systems & banks can get hacked by quantum computing" …….since that would theoretically be much easier.
The lack of understanding around quantum will serve future buy points from the mindless fud it will feed
Thank you Andrea, 1 question: IF an agency would use Q tech to "hack" or doublespend, would the blochchain be able to recognize and spot these transactions? All the Best.

Excelent points (as usual), Andreas!
Are you sure they actually pulled off what they're claiming?
I'm very skeptical about quantum computing, to put it lightly.
How would a quantum computer do at mining?
Lerning everyday ? lol
So does that mean by going to a Shitcoins bitcoin cash machine in London and buying bitcoin in cash, no body can knows about that address? I have been able to put my public address into an app and see the balance so I guess I’m wrong

Please talk about librem 5 and similar solutions.
10:17 How is it unlikely that only a few people would have quantum computing power? Isn't that already the case with google?
