How will the traditional financial system adapt to cryptocurrencies? Legacy systems (banks, like horse-and-carriage) are delaying the inevitable. Some people will see the future earlier than others and leave banks. How do we ensure that Bitcoin remains an open and decentralised system in the face of enterprise encroachment? What is at stake? How the internet killed the phone industry. Bitcoin’s killer app is about changing how money works. Etheruem is about reinventing the modern corporation.

  1. A revolutionary thinker. The ability to foresee the beginnings of a whole new paradigm and framing that from prior paradigm shifts is a great way to help less visionary people like me envision a whole new world. A quality speaker.

  2. I don't know what the future brings. I trade in both crypto and the Traditional stock market and I have to say right now I see a need for both national currencies and cryptocurrency, we're not really at the point yet where I could go all in on crypto and survive off it alone. But I have to admit that I'm frustrated at the traditional financial system at this point for how inefficient it is. The US stock exchange is the most important market in the god damn world and it has HOURS of operation. You can't trade past a certain hour and it's closed on the weekends and holidays and that just blows my mind for how important those markets are that they take breaks at all.

Especially since our trading is done electronically at this point, it's not like there are Stock Brokers running back and forth to deliver physical shares to people it's all computers at this point, it wouldn't kill them to be open 24/7.

Bitcoin is open for business 24/7. It never sleeps. if The stock market is electronic why does it keep hours in the first place?

  3. I would like to know where Canadians can purchase RSP products outside a bank?
Cause right now, people get a tax receipt, that can save them considerable money off their tax returns. Can’t seem to get the same receipt if one buys Crypto. Not yet, right???

  4. Hey Andreas,
Will you make a video explaining this block size madness? Apparently they want to shrink it now? Is that a joke? How about they just leave Britney alone? 🙂
Sounds like they want to FORCE LN usage. Scares the shit out of me. Would like to hear your thoughts on it.

  5. Andreas you are wrong that there will be 'hundreds' of crypto currencies used globally in the future. Network effects and metcalfe's law mean that it will likely be a few winners tops and possible only one winner, likely bitcoin.

  6. Andreas doesn't fail in providing simple yet overarching answers to key questions. His analytical skills, as well as his ability to talk about complex things get n simple words never cease to amaze me. It's a great gift.

  7. — THE FIVE QUESTIONS —-
    by Larken Rose
    1) Is there any means by which any number of individuals can delegate to someone else the moral right to do something which none of the individuals have the moral right to do themselves?
    2) Do those who wield political power (presidents, legislators, etc.) have the moral right to do things which other people do not have the moral right to do? If so, from whom and how did they acquire such a right?
    3) Is there any process (e.g., constitutions, elections, legislation) by which human beings can transform an immoral act into a moral act (without changing the act itself)?
    4) When law-makers and law-enforcers use coercion and force in the name of law and government, do they bear the same responsibility for their actions that anyone else would who did the same thing on his own?
    5) When there is a conflict between an individual's own moral conscience, and the commands of a political authority, is the individual morally obligated to do what he personally views as wrong in order to "obey the law"?

  8. 12:58 I really doubt it: Languages are disappearing VERY fast for ONE lingua franca: "As of the 2000s, a total of roughly 7,000 natively spoken languages existed worldwide.(…) 90% of the currently spoken languages will have become extinct by 2050." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extinct_language
Most of alt/shitcoins will have diseappeared in a few years, as languages today. What will remain will be pegged to the most prevalent actor (English for language, Bitcoin in crypto).
