What critical infrastructure is being worked on? A multitude of exchanges (preferably decentralised), secure wallets with intuitive user interfaces and the latest features (SegWit, RBF, CPFP), ATMs, and educational projects. What are the next big upgrades or projects in Bitcoin development? Schnorr signatures, signature aggregation, MAST, sidechains and drivechains, Taproot, and Graftroot. Are there block size increases in the roadmap?

THE TRUTH! CVE-2018-17144 vulnerability in the Bitcoin Core is very suspicious and the reason I am out of bitcoin and why everyone else should be out of it too! Its been compromised! take the crash on 11th of October 2018 for example! It would make complete sense for all the duplicated coins to be converted into Altcoins as well then simultaneously sell everything off at the same time when bad news is expected thereby covering up the sell off of the duplicated coins! BITCOIN HAS BEEN COMPROMISED and I challenge people to prove me wrong! REBUILD Bitcoin with mimblewimble integrated and lets start over because bitcoin is broken! forget the greed and REBUILD
I think Hard Fork to increase block size is still early. Currently blockchain will be adding 100GB per year after segwit. And bitcoin network is performing well with this limit (mempool is low). 100GB per year is just comfortable for most considering 1TB hard disk is still a norm. And to download 160GB of current blockchain size it takes around and day and no extra cost in India. I think we should wait till average people start owning bigger hard disk and network bandwidth becomes better. I think we should wait till atleast 2019 end before increasing block size.
Hey Andreas please go on the Joe Rogan Podcast. We want to hear you talk for 3+ hours again. You are the best!!
No way near enough exchanges. The only spur- of- the- moment place to but bitcoin is coinbase. The few decentralized exchanges have no activity on them to speak of. Need a bustling, easy system of user friendly tools for lightning, buying/ selling/ swapping/ storing.
Agreed, Infrastructure and much improved UX is key. Engineers rarely make good UX designers!
194 countries? idk man, some are forever going to be shitholes. it's just how it is.
Mt is an abbreviation for MOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not M T Gox by Mount Gox. You do awesome work, thanks.
Great as always. One thing, You didn’t go into any explanation about “education systems”
write down what I googled about the major upgrades here. 1. BIP 98: Fast Merkel Tree 2. BIP 114: MAST( Merkelized Abstract Syntax Tree) 3. BIP 8: Version bits with lock-in by height
I no what hash browns are .
Queustion: If world governments work together and issue centralized crypto at the same time, is decentralized crypto at risk?
Block explorers are critical infrastructure. All full nodes should have explorers. This service gets dangerously centralized.
Good info, probably the most educational channel about bitcoin on youtube
Pillar wallet coming soon !
OMG=In-Wallet DEX, with OTC cash in-cash out points.
Not trying to $hill, but it's damn near all three birds with one stone.
Awesome content but audio has a lot of room for improvement.
I go to this channel for definitive information. Only if better room acoustic (foams to minimize echo chamber effect) and even a Blue Yeti mic is used with some minimal effort to audio edit, this will make videos 20x better / more bearable. Thumbs up if you agree. ?
How is the btc dominance to survive once we get many fiat onramps to other cryptos? Right now, we became is the major trading pair and major onramp.
…for a second I thought I was listening to a Ripple Q&A…then I heard the plan to increase the block size…then I got confused…but it just confirmed I was on a Bitcoin Q&A…phew !
Thanks Andreas 🙂
Thanks
Great questions and answers. Well said as always Andreas. It's not about flash it's about function.
K N O W L E D G E ??
you are the best
Infrastrucure projects! You the man Andreas. I have a question for you if you don't mind. IS there any way to quantify off chain transactions on the Bitcoin network?
Andreas = The Best Ever
Andreas is Satoshi
Hi @aantonop If I wish to learn to code to pursue development in this realm what should I start with?
So glad you brought up ease of use on wallets. This is a major setback but it seems to be back of the list for most people when it really shouldn't be. Ease of use can attract more interest and improve adoption.
#BitCoinIsKing
Damn bro 143k subs now??? Holy chit. It was like 10k last summer no? ?
Faster transactions, better exsisting software hardware capable for mass adoption… "if you build it, they will come"
I am so excited about Bitcoin
We need bitcoin covenants already!
Seriously, smartphones need an upgrade with some hardware thing. They managed to integrate cameras. Why not some kind of universal standard hardware wallet – extra display on the backside of the phone? extra physical switch to connect/unconnect – some contact point to make a payment? maybe some Smartphone developer or smartphone case developer might pick this up – feel free.
Hi Andreas, awesome information. I have 2 question. 1) what is your insight about the blocksteam satellite network? 2) what do you think about Bitcoin Atom with Atomic swap technology?
Thanks in advance with high Regards
I want to be able to take my phone, hold it against a cashiers device and my payment with Bitcoin is done. Like I do with my plastic card already. 30$ daily work without putting in a pin code. 30$+ pin is required… Amounts 200$+ (I can decide the limit) I must order 24 hours b4 spending(you would wonder how many things I didn't buy because I could think about it 24 hours) .
Andreas, you are the real bitcoin Jesus!
We need easy to use wallet systems , for mass adoption,
Instant Fiat to cryptocurrencies and back!!!!
