True, McAfee is a smart guy and what he says should not be thrown out the window especially about crypto.
I think what the "secreted data" thing means is that John hacked into military computer systems throughout the entire world (U.S., China, Russia, Pakistan, etc.) for ALL countries possessing nuclear missiles and stole the "launch codes" for those launch systems. This would include all land-based nuclear launch silos, as well as ALL nuclear-capable submarines. So I firmly believe that what this means by saying, "events set in motion cannot be reversed," is that John has the nuclear grid rigged to simultaneously launch literally THOUSANDS of nuclear missiles all over the freakin' planet Earth, thus resulting in total extinction of ALL forms of life (except for maybe cockroaches that thrive on nuclear radiation). That's what I really believe…?
