Most people who have bitcoin have more wallets than they used to because of the uptake of HD wallets. They create a new address for each UTXO received, but it is hidden from the user interface. I probably have about 20 or 30 addresses. I used to have 2 or 3. One BIP 39 seed holds all my addresses.

We should largely ignore wallet number as a metric. What is important is bitcoin investment inflow, which when price is steady, is 1800( from new bitcoin) x price. Currently, that is 13 million USD per day being pumped into bitcoin accumulation. Every other trade is just bitcoin changing hands.
