ICOs vs STOs: What's the Difference Between Them and Why You Need to Know

In today’s episode of Your Simplified Coin Review, we look at the differences between ICOs (initial coin offerings) & STOs (Security Token Offerings). While there is quite a difference between the two, it seems like one strategy for new tokens is to opt for the name Security Token instead of Utility Token due to the bad reputation ICOs have. Of course, one big difference between the two is that Security Tokens must be backed by an asset. This gives a layer of protection to investors that ICOs do not provide. It will be interesting to see if regulated ICOs are able to survive or if in the near future, only STO’s will be able to draw investors.
