I love the line about "remember your first bitcoin purchase" or alt-coin in my case. My first go at this was Litecoin in 2017. When we dig deep in our core lessons in Crypto. We learn the saying "One Dogecoin equals One Dogecoin" Thats a remarkable saying that was born from one of the largest and most authentic crypto communities around Dogecoin. I now apply that to Litecoin as well, but that took two years to be able to carry out. It's important to stop comparing crypto keys to USD, if you are in crypto then you clearly forsee a 21century with a less relevant USD. I started out with over 13 alt coins 2 years ago, but I narrowed myself down to only 4. For I ask myself the question, Can I hold this down to one penny. And the answer is with Litecoin, and Bitcoin, and Dogecoin, and Monero I CAN. I really can, I simply can't with Etheream, XRP, Bitcoin Cash, ETC. So ask yourself this question! Can I hold it down to one penny? and stop wondering what it is worth in US Dollars, hold it over 12 months to enter a long term capital gains bracket. And wait for an opportunity for your alt coin to reach 2% of a Bitcoin or even better.

You forgot the second and more important reason. Miners are selling bitcoin at a rate of 1800 per day. That's a lot of bitcoin. The price is declining from previous excitement, but the fact that it is sort of holding suggests people ARE buying, but the numbers are too few to sustain the price. If no hard core believers have left, then the previous bottom must hold. And it's probably going to be higher because there will be newly educated bitcoiners over time. Soon the supply will halve to 900 per day and the price will trend up

There is no demand for bitcoin because there is no perceived need for it right now. Fiat works and does what it needs to do, which is, simply, to buy whatever someone needs. People dont think long term, people dont look at economics, people dont understand bitcoin and therefore until this changes there will never be any demand.

The new buyers (the type that drive the price up) are the dumb money, and the dumb money only buys the top. Never the bottom.

There's a lot of sorting out to be done with cryptocurrency and we are in this stage now, one thing is certain that the world's governments are keeping a close eye on every aspect of the digital world. The fear factor of governments and banking institutions is real as they will not want to be left behind and miss there opportunity to develop their own digital currency. We as crypto holders are investing for our own future not theirs.
