Are you scared about an impending recession? Or do you see it as an opportunity?
Do your homework with the 5 types of competitive advantages that make a business worth investing in! http://bit.ly/2Tb1niB
I feel like I've been seeing the same videos about the impending recession for years. Makes it tough to decide what to do! I made almost 100% in the market in 2019. I got in the market while it was going down at the end of 2018, coincidentally almost at the bottom, because I thought we were heading into a bear market and that was the time to start buying companies on sale. I'm very aware of international relations and national regulations and how they affect the market so I can make the best decisions I can, but it's just so hard to predict!
All these people who have been in cash for years have missed out on amazing returns in quality companies. I think it's harder to decide when to sell than it is to decide when to buy! Though Warren Buffett says the best time to sell a company is never!
Overall, great video that really highlights the most important things to do once we're already in a recession! No need to predict when it will happen if you're prepared!
Thank you Phil…,, it’s time to search good company & set margin of safety
Yeah, but where's the recession?
2021
well i would be excited, but as a 20 yo i am swimming naked
Excellent tips! ? I'm glad I saw all of this in the last recession and made some mistakes you mentioned but quickly realized my mistakes.
1. Don’t panic, never sell.
2. Buy stocks, because they are cheaper.
Thank you very much, Mr Town!
I'm stoked for a recession brah
1,200% return!?!
Summary
1. Build emergency fund
2. Don't sell stocks at a loss…
3. Stay rational and don't panic
4. Load up on awesome companies (How do you know which companies are awesome?)
5. Increase savings and press the buy button when prices are below true value…
– Bear markets usually don't last as long as bull markets
Trade wars, 2020 elections, Iran escalations and markets don't even care? Very strange…
"Inverted yield curve"… paying more money for short term buying than long term buying…
recession or depression?
What if we get into depression, it will take longer than bull market?
"Is a recession coming?" Impossible to answer
"Are you prepared?" 100% in your control with a proper risk tolerance assigned to your portfolio
"Is it an opportunity?" If you're accumulating, very likely.
Phil, thanks for another great video. I read a recent article on Yahoo Finance where they asked the question, "Why are 'zombie' retailers taking so long to die?". They said, "low interest rates and easy money are allowing companies to stay in business when the market would normally force them to close", but I also believe it is also due to Index Fund investing. Would you agree?
I sold 80% of my Vanguard mutual funds and transferred it in a Vanguard money market account last week. I think I made a mistake. ? I didn’t know I would have to pay taxes for this. ? ?The Iran news had me worried.
Hey Phil, what's your thoughts on forex?
