Ep 100: Simplifying Trading Indicators (ADX, MACD, Bollinger Bands, RSI)

★ SUMMARY ★
In today’s episode, we’ll talk about simplifying some trading indicators, such as the ADX, MACD, Bollinger Bands, RSI, as well as some other regular indicators.

Back when I started trading a long time ago, I fell in love with indicators, it was like a romantic relationship. That’s what indicators become to a lot of traders. They get overly excited about them. I used to put too much emphasis and attention on them, and a lot of times, this ends up not being a good thing.

Instead, you should focus on price, volume, and of course, behavior. Those are the key and more important things that I look at.

If you’ve been studying charts for a while, you can get the same things that you would get from an indicator by analyzing the chart yourself. And I’ll prove it to you in this episode.

Look at the bigger picture, and keep things simple when you’re trading and investing. I know when you’re first getting started, you’re probably looking for that magic thing to help you make money fast, but really there isn’t such thing. It’ all about finding a strategy that works for you.

Indicators are something that you only should glance at, you don’t want to be looking constantly at them and make full trading decisions based on them. Instead, you can use indicators for confirming what you already know based on price, volume, and behavior. And you want to choose only one or two indicators that you’re comfortable with.

  2. Your videos are really helpful. As a beginner I have seen a lot videos about indicators, but it really confused me. You are so clear in your explanation. Also your voice is really clear and relaxing, which keeps me focussed on what you have to tell and explain. Thank you! Thank you! <3

  3. I always like to revisit your videos, love charts,love it……………..thanks bro…chart1 ppo and adx,chart 2 rsi and macd…………………..this is a valuable video,fantastic

  4. Thanks very informative for beginners just like me. I really appreciate this video. It is life changing. My goal is 10grand before the year ends.

  5. Moving Average crossover is a good indicator in my experience. 4,9, and 18 period MA's laid over the price action chart can give you just a slightly better foresight, based on about 80% historic accuracy. If you can find the right periods then you can watch for the short term to cross over the "medium" term MA, then watch for both to cross over the longer term MA. About 80% of the time you'll see a swing immediately there after. Couple this with tweezers and hammers, maybe add a S/R line, watch the volume, and that's basically it. Its not 100%, but neither is anything else. Plus its easy to see to make quick calls for entries. In a matter of seconds you can spot an opportunity, then its just up to you to decide what your risk management is for the order. By the way, have you made any videos on risk management? Such as risk calculations with variables?

  6. Regarding the MACD: Not all indicators work 50 percent of the time — even in the proper context. If there were three, four or more indicators all lined up and rearing to go, authenticated by Jesse Livermore, Bollinger and every trading author the dubiousness would abound.

  7. this revolutionized the way I think. as a noob I came to YouTube today to find more indicators and which are the best, but I think I'll start making some small investments using my own knowledge before I start getting into too many indicators. thanks for the jelp
