Our current banking system is using not quite the equivalent of gambling bet markers as collateral. An electronic record of the promise to pay to place the bet is what undergirds so much now. Not gold, not silver, not land. not even fiat.

Hey Lark I would like to get your thought on a possible scenario.
If the global Centralized banking system collapse happens and how can any crypto have/hold any value that's not backed by precious metals?
All the worlds debt is unpayable because no one Country can call in it's investments without a cascade taking everything down. Chart all indicate (fiat) we're sitting worse than 2008 financial crisis. I feel every Country is preparing for a gold backed currency with all the gold they're buy and have been for 2 years now.
I feel there's been very little progress in the last 1 1/2 years with crypto and they're definitely not ready for global operations if centralized bank (old system) does go down.
I'm personally waiting for 280 to 300 billion market cap so I can sell everything minus BTC and ADA and investing in gold which I've been doing for the last year.
I also welcome anyone with an open mind to consider this possibility and offer constructive comments.
Everyone needs to start paying attention to the centralized fiat system because it's looking very doomed.
hey lark i have a idea i think its good but i dont have the skills so open source it baby , imagine facebook but with smart contracts and privacy of course lol but really think we need a social platform thats decentralized and then the sky is the limit so how you ask idk but i have a idea what if we make a platform that pays people for there freespace therfore the plaform is running on anyones computer what could you do with that well you could have a censorship free place you could also make trading crypto as easy as making a facebook post no more central exchanges just a bunch of smart contracts swaping private keys all decentralized what else could you do with a decentralized shared freespace this idea is the idea that kills the killer app we need this a dex isnt a dex if its only running on one crypto the dex must be the network help me spread this idea so maybe someone with the right skills can make this reality this wouldnt be that hard for someone who can code blockchains

It's a long road…and will be completed by the young, tech savvy and highly informed following generations…old school thinking and vested interest will wane with time, adoption of new technologically driven thinking and capabilities will win out…my biggest regret is I probably won't be here to see it
Well, China cracking down on crypto mining is actually a good thing for the environment, as China uses a lot of polluting coal to generate electricity. And while indeed Wall Street financial products pose a threat to crypro price discovery the result will be that, for example BTC, will behave more and more as gold and silver. Prices can (and probably will) be manipulated, but the "problem" is that traditional fiat finance and governance is a self-destructing mechanism. One way or the other, at the end of the day we will see prices of precious metals and crypto skyrocket against fiat currency. The more it's supressed by schemes and manipulation, the more we will see it bounce back.
