I am confused by terminology in Bitcoin. Please explain the following terms: private / public keys, hash functions, elliptic curve, addresses, and signatures. How can you create an address offline? How does the Bitcoin network “find out” about the address?

These questions are from the third and fourth sessions of MOOC 12, which took place on September 27th and October 4th 2019. If you want early-access to talks and a chance to participate in the monthly live Q&As with Andreas, become a patron: https://www.patreon.com/aantonop

  1. Andreas right now less than 1% of the people use BTC. I think a video about how can the blockchain of bitcoin can handle the usage of 30% of the people would be really helpful. After the problems that we had in the 2017, I think people need to understand how scalability works in Blockchain. Etherwise as we saw some of them might be interested in the BSV or Bcash because they think that those coins can solve the problem. But the gigawatts that btc Blockchain use, provide us the safety of 51% attack as you said.

  2. Good video, I like your ideas and you illustrate them well this way. The current trend of HODling currency for life from a financial point of view is the wrong strategy for profiting. There is a significant difference between stocks which can be based on professional advice held and currencies (cryptocurrency), and this is because most of them are hypes and highly speculative. I have made over 80,000€ in the last two months day trading my BTC which I am sure would be a fantasy if I were HODling. I used a strategy developed by Benjamin Jackson, and with his trade pattern and signals, I am aiming for higher highs. If you have any inquiries, you can reach him on ( BenjaminJacksontv@gmail .com)** or Telegram@BenjaminJackson for any related questions regarding on crypto.

  3. If Eric didnt even know the basics or the understanding of them at the first level, i guarantee that you just made him even more confused. Dont get me wrong you did a superb job of explaining those concepts.. But, not at a first stage entry level. For much of it you could have said it gets more in depth, if willing to learn it, but it's not necessary, really ever (much like a large portion of internet users has no idea how it works, but it doesn't stop them from using it 24/7, and mostly without problems) or that your wallet will do everything for you. I don't mean to criticize you either, i love your work, huge fan, and somewhat following in your footsteps per se. Ill need someone to keep teaching me afterall!
