What are sidechains? What is Liquid and what are the use cases of sidechains? What are the differences to the Lightning Network? What do you think about Delegated Byzantine Fault Tolerance? What are issues with these federated models?

Best video explaining why you should only invest long term in $BTC
I understand the advantages of immutability in pow. however in Delegated Byzantine Fault Tolerance people would vote for anothet node if they misbehave so no way to rewrite history
Scary time for EOS bag hodlers 🙂 9:30
Hello Andreas. I just want to let you know that i very much appreciate your work in the crypto space. You and only you are the one that must represent the community. You must be our leader to explain to governments what's changing the world. Nobody else I met on the internet can do that with such a knowledge, ease and authority then you. That said I have a small suggestion to think over. As a teacher I know there are different ways of learning. Some people learn by just listening to someone, but a lot of people learn much better when they have graphics, pictures and so on. For instants, I'm not a native speaker and it would help me to to understand it much faster. I think it helps a lot, to teach with much more ease and when you talk to an audience your talks are maybe better to understand for a lot of people. It's just a tip I would like to give to you because I think then everybody understands then that you are the best representative of our community. Thank you for that.
In one sense, immutability is a myth. All you need to do to edit the chain is fork it into something else. So can we really say any chain is truly immutable?
Immutability in PoW has a difficulty spectrum that corresponds to time/ block age and this fact should be emphasized more imo. A transaction in the last block is much easier to change than one in the chain's genesis block.
An additional layer to any blockchain project – an #Escrow option will turn ANY coin to a market place in itself where one can trade everything, not only currency
How far are we away from a crypto debit card?
Thank you Andreas
You say they are legit because the more lightning network evolves the more the liquid network becomes useless. But you should be the expert and I am sorry to remind you that the more BITCOIN evolves the less their sidechains are necessary. Anybody can understand that their employees are producing an open source code that will serve their interests at the expense of bitcoin
would you say Liquid can be more decentralized than, say, Ripple?
How about interoperability ? Solutions like Aion.network or Polkadot and Cosmos will enable not only value exchange but also logic exchange between the blockchains. Do you think it has the future?
Thank you so much for such an eloquent explanation your videos are so educational and have really helped grow our community
Liquid sounds like inflation to me. I am a noob though.
As per their website, Blockstream is involved in the development of the Lightning Network.
"Explain the most complicated thing ever in simple steps." Andreas proceeds to do so.
Oooh stripes and chequers, nice
Smashed the like
XRP ledger is a BTC sidechain.
Awesome video – I appreciate all you do for the crypto space!!
Crucial knowledge, listen to this a few more times.
Yeah when you say you dismantle the LN argument about blockstream profiting etc, you didn't dismantle it for at least one reason and that is there is nothing stopping them from becoming a LN hub and collecting fees. Which blockstream says thier main goal is to make money by fees just saying.
