  1. Copying and pasting a email is no different to copying and pasting an wallet address I don't think this will work. It's not beneficial… making a email account is no different to setup up a coinbase account

  2. There are some games i play in my phone that send eth, btc, and ltc to my coinbase wallet using nothing but my email. It's nice not to have to copy and paste my wallet address every time i cash out

  3. Another thing that will absolutely no bearing on Bitcoin..every few days "Bitcoin is going to the moon beacuse.." yet it keeps going down..no one cares about Bitcoin other than the small minority of the world.

  4. This just looks like a custodian service. Coinbase is going to lend out the bitcoin and earn interest, that is why they can pay miner fee, and why they will hold funds for minimum 48 hrs

  5. I can easily email a QR code to anyone and they can easily deposit any crypto into my acct. Instant transaction. So, what's the point? Why do we need an invention? Inventions imply ownership and centralization.

  6. Coinbase is easier to use . Yes they take a cut every time you sell. Make sure you download all your devices computer iPad and phone And make a copy of your key put it in your safe so you won’t forget your private key if you lose your phone you have a back up. Just sold my second car to buy 2 bitcoin Holding for the long run

  7. Surely we'd just need BTC functionality built into our local email client, then link our private key to our email client and voila, we can send BTC from our email client to other email recipients*. In terms of receiving BTC via email, just need to have a decentralised naming system that resolves email addresses to public keys. This could be set up automatically when you give your email client access to your private key and if the receiving email address isn't resolveable to a public key, you won't be able to send it. To do this using a cloud based email client is a little naive, but you could take the API from an exchange account that holds a small balance on it, and give the email service access to it I suppose, as you would a trading bot. Never hold all your BTC in an exchange wallet tho.

  8. Coinbase now has 48 hours to "PLAY" with YOUR Crypto's. The same use the current Banking system has found for your fiat transfers …. and here we go again.

  9. I don't see how this email stuff is anything that will help spread adoption…certainly not like wildfire. Currently, I can send bitcoin to anyone directly in a fraction of time without needing a middle man to oversee the transaction. At the end of the day you still need wallets, private keys, and everything else if you want to hold BTC. This part of the article is a nothing burger…I wonder what fees Coinbase will charge for this service in addition to the usual high fees lol.

  10. dude what are you talking about, this has already existed for years now. I first found out 2 years ago when someone emailed me for a gpu i was selling and i asked for payment in crypto and he sent it to my coinbase account without me giving him any info at all. I first panicked and was like wtf i didnt give you a sending address, but he sent it to my email address which showed up on coinbase.

  11. Great News but i don't trust Coinbase. Hidden fees will pop up somewhere when their 'Email bitcoin' starts to see adoption.. Will wait for other exchanges and Crtpto projects to copy the tech…

  12. The mainstream exposure seems like a great upside here. Without knowing the safeguards, however, the ability to send BTC via email terrifies me in regards to security.
