I wonder if the lost money on exchanges is even a new thing. I thought banks loose money also. But they don't publish it. Not sure if that's 100% valid and true, but I heard from a security guy that banks get hacked all the time. They get hacked since they use computers, since they use modems, since they set up the first atms, and they loose money all the time but they just don't even publish that. Everything below a certain amount –> nobody except the some inner circle and the hired security people will know about it. They hire private security people. That's all. No news. No headline. Not even law enforcement. Nothing. Never happened if you ask them. They don't want to damage their reputation. People have to keep their funds in the bank. With blockchain.. they couldn't hide it. The theft and transfer is more or less public.
