MyEtheWallet has released a new beta version of their website and Ethereum wallet creation tool so let’s check it out.
This new version is claiming to be more intuitive and provide an overall better user experience for newcomers and experienced users alike.
It’s got some new features as well which is what I’m more interested in checking out.
They’ve added new hardware wallet support so you can connect wallets on devices like the ledger and Trezor as always, with new additions like KeepKey, Secalot, and BitBox. They also have an app called MEWconnect that you can use with your smartphone. You can download that one on the apple store and google play store.

They’ve also added the ability to swap coins so think ETH for ERC20 tokens, Bitcoin and others.
What’s cool about this is that when you go to swap coins you’re shown a couple different options so you can shop for a better price and compare the fees associated with the trade.
You can also purchase tokens with your credit card via Simplex.
And you can get notified about your transactions so you can have a bit more peace of mind.

Speaking of peace of mind, you can also use the new SafeSend option for sending transactions. This analyzes the address to which you’ll be sending your coins and will warn you if it’s a known address of a scam. Happy to see some proactive security in that area.

If you want to see a step by step guide on how to create a wallet using this new site, or if you want to see what these new features look like, don’t miss tomorrow’s video, I’ll be going over all of that in detail.

  1. One thing I did notice on the new mew, if you had any coins that you added, they no longer show in the new list. I tried to figure out how to get them back up but couldn't so went back to the classic and they weren't showing there either. I had to add them back manually. Not a real big deal but if you have multiple tokens that you added you'll have to go back and dig up the token info and contract address to re add them.

  2. Hello, Heidi! Would you do a review for a cold storage device called "Bitfi"( which is sponsored by John McAfee) claiming to be unhackable? thank you
