Just mention the word “craps,” and images of smoky casinos, full of robust men in their chalky suits, in a classic film noir come to mind. This game is probably the most exciting of all those players in a casino, attracting players and spectators in gangs.
Originally from the old English game of “Hazard,” this game is based on the dice roll. The current name “craps” was attributed to the old French crapaud game, which also used a pair of dice to achieve a specific total of points. Terminologies
As you would expect, craps have a very rich vocabulary of their own. All numbers have nicknames – many of which are global, while others may be specific to certain casinos. The following is a list of some of the most important terms you should learn:
High-Low (Hi-Lo): Bet on a 2 or 12 on the next release.
Bet “Don’t Come” (Don’t Come Bet): Bet on 7 before the point is set again.
“Don’t Pass” bet: Bet on how craps or 7 comes out instead of making the point.
“Field Bet”: Bet on 2,3,4,9,10,11, or 12.
“Odds” bet: Bet beyond the “Pass Line” bet.
“Pass Line Bet”: Bet on “Pass Line” on an exit-entry.
Place Bet: Bet on how a specific number (e.g., 6 or 9) will come out before a 7.
Active Bet (On): Bet that is active at the next launch.
Inactive Bet (Off): Bet that is not active at the next launch.
Aces: Bet on the next release with a total value of 2.
Boxcars: Bet on the next release with a total value of 12.
C & E: Bet on the next release with a total value of craps (2.3 or 12) or 11.
Difficult (Hardway): Bet on 4,6,8, or 10, both data being of equal value (2/2,3/3, etc.), before leaving a 7 or an “easy”.
Easy (Easy Way): Release of 4.6.8 or 10 in which the two data have different numbers from each other.
Come Out Roll: First launch in any betting round, and that establishes the line for “Pass” and “Don’t Pass” bets.
Natural: It is a saida release of 7 or 11.
Point: Number determined by the exit launch.
Any Craps (Any Craps): Bet on the next release with a total value of 2.3 or 12.
Any Seven (Any Seven): Bet on the next release with a total value of 7.
Rules
The launcher starts the game by making a bet equal to or greater than the minimum bet on the “Pass Line” or “Don’t Pass Line.” Two dice are released, which must hit the boundary wall on the other side of the table before reaching their final position (in online craps and mobile craps, this step is simulated on the screen). The pitcher is one of the players, changing with each round in a clockwise direction.
Each round is divided into two phases: “Exit” and “Point”. The first phase is the release of saida.
