AION CEO Matt Spoke chats with BlockchainBrad (BCB) about his Third Generation Blockchain Network. But what is this? In a nutshell, it is a multi-tier blockchain system designed to address unsolved questions of scalability, privacy, and interoperability in blockchain networks. The Aion protocol enables the development of a federated blockchain network, making it possible to seamlessly integrate dissimilar blockchain systems in a multi-tier hub-and-spoke model, similar to the internet.
The Network
The Aion blockchain network is like a computer network that makes it possible for dissimilar systems to communicate. The Aion network will pass logic and value among participating blockchains as freely as liquid assets, where every transaction occurs without centralized intermediaries.
The Aion network will be centered on a public, purpose-built third-generation blockchain called Aion-1. Designed to connect other blockchains and manage its own robust applications, Aion-1 also provides the crypto-economic system that incentivizes interoperability in the ecosystem.
Roadmap position atm (Phase 2, 2018):
The second phase of the Aion release plan is targeted towards the migration from our modified EVM architecture towards the proposed AVM architecture. Development priorities of this phase include:
Introducing the Aion Virtual Machine (AVM) version 1
Aion scripting language
Proof-of-Intelligence consensus algorithm

fantastic interview.
Project Aion is sleeping Giant.
Great interview I would love to see you talk to their partner Guy Zyskind from Enigma as well because that's what all the references to privacy, scalability and building blocks reminded me of.
Great interview!
Brad, I watched your older AION review a few months ago where you said one of the weakenesses of AION was their consensus, but from this interview they are going to head towards a delegated system, probably dPoS or dBFT. You also mention one of their weaknesses was that if AION-1 was to be a permissioned system, that hyperledger becomes a competitor, but they are not permissioned, they are public. I'm left with wondering what weaknesses are left? To me they seem just as promising as WAN and Cosmos. Unsure about ICON as I am not yet as knowledgeable there, but i plan to read up on them.
really good questions and nice that you don't dumb down like so many other out there! have you thought about asking Richard Heart on the channel? it would be great to have him on to chat about crypto in general.
You ask damn sharp questions! Nice, i subbed
Brad, great interview. I was wondering myself why the need to have an alliance with WAN and ICON if all 3 are trying to solve the interoperability problem? I get them wanting to share the knowledge, but wouldn't we expect only one name to come out the winner in the interoperability space? Much like we now have TCP/IP as the ONE.
No one on YouTube gets these interviews and understands these projects like Brad.
great interviewer and great interviewee (and project)
starting to accumulate some aion for sure
My favorite project, CEO & Interviewer!
Huzzah! One of my favorite projects in the space right now. Thanks, Brad!
Probably my favourite crypto interviewer, thank you for you hard work Brad.
I feel like there consensus algorithm is like nebulas POD.
Awesome i have to cherry pic ur videos now there are so many great ones!
Smart guy, a great concept, and good background. Thanks for doing this interview, you're a good interviewer Brad
Working hard these days. Interview just pooping out 😀 Thank you so much as always. Im learning so much about all the projects and getting more bullish on Crypto everyday
