Cell Phone for Trading – Google Nexus 5x / Project FI Review

★ SUMMARY ★
Having a reliable, flexible cell phone and service provider is key to on-the-go trading.

When it comes to my cell phone and provider, I have carefully decided the optimal combination for helping me remain a successful trader. Today I want to share with you what I look for in a device and why.

I put great thought into why I use my specific device and plan because I think it is an important aspect of trading. In my opinion, it is simply too risky to have your phone work against you when you are traveling, on vacation, or simply away from home.

A cell phone that is fit for trading covers all the bases for trading reliability, flexibility, stability.

  1. I have the Nexus 5x too with T-Mobile; they had a data-only plan for cell phones that they no longer offer (I was grandfathered in and still am) it was 10$ a month for 2gigs of LTE, unlimited 3g and no additional costs for international data. I use textfree for calling they let me pick my phone number which ends in 6999 calling is about .0025$ a minute with free inbound, free textfree to textfree and with T-mobile Tuesdays (free lyft/movie tickets/subway/pizza every Tuesday) included I end up making about 50-70$ a month for having cell service.

  2. Best thing to do: don't use cell phone for trading if at all possible to avoid.
You'll likely be unfocused and only have very limited/basic information available.. But we can all agree that Apple sucks though 😀

  3. Thanks for making the video Sasha. In the last couple of months Fi added US Cellular as a Fi partner here in the US with Sprint and T Mobile. It added Three in Europe, and LTE roaming to it's T Mobile and Three international roaming partners, so now you get excellent LTE coverage internationally, not just 3G anymore. Best wishes.

  4. Wow project fi is really amazing, I am so lucky of having a 6P and I am now considering to switch over to it, thank you so much!
I also have a question, which book would you recommend to learn better risk management when trading?
    Have a nice day!
    Tom

  5. I have a nexus 6p on Fi with a red case. Another nice feature of the Nexus/Fi combo is the automatic data encryption over open wifi networks. Gives a little more piece of mind with digital trading/banking.
