EOS, Tether, NEO and Bitcoin Conspiracies

I am investing in EOS tokens via buying in Bitfinex and storing in my Exodus wallet. Although both Bitfinex and Exodus uses the same ETH address for EOS tokens, they are not compatible to participating in EOS tokens distributions?? (FAQ on the EOS page: 13. What ETH compatible wallets are recommended?…)

It seems that applies only to participate into the Token distribution, but now I am confused How that 'Bitfinex-Exodus buying-storing' would affect me at the end of the Token distribution? Do I actually own or will own any EOS Tokens on Exodus? If not, will I get my EOS tokens?
