Don't use Scottrade extremely poor execution with All exchanges even the Nasdaq , not having a market maker other than to watch all pricing and electronic trading runs well, when your price target does not trigger many many times and was the highest price limit order set days before or even within 3-4 cents, lower selling or higher buying, you have to wonder what's wrong. Low volume stocks small companies, don't do it, and they charge you or make up when you do a transfer, or you need to wail for a check in the mail for no charges, that you may have to call them again since they don't like to send you money unless hey charge you for it. Search for internalization, you will find out they can get away selling your shares to other Scottrade acc holder before they hit the real market, shame on them.

Scottrade seems like a good platform for beginning to trade. Id like to buy and sell keeping it simple. would scottrade be a good broker to start with? I have asked about interactive brokers as well but scottrade seems better to start with

i dont suppose u know what the delay (latency) is for 'freestockcharts worden' real time streaming data as compared to a paid subscription version?
also to clarify. regarding the majority of stock broker sites out there. do they charge u a subscription monthly fee to use them as well as commissions for trades? or is it just a case of signing up and depositing the amount required to start an account?
