Greetings. Just a small clarification. Swap isn't an implementation of the MimbleWimble protocol, but it uses a variation of the PoW algorithm used by Grin, Cuckaroo29. The project itself uses the CryptoNote protocol for the privacy features. The reason for its adoption is because Cuckaroo is a more simple algorithm than CryptoNight, commonly used by the other CryptoNote coins. Cuckaroo is far less CPU intensive, which means it takes less time and resources for a node to validade and sync the blocks of the network, which was one of the improvements adopted that allowed Swap to safely have 15 seconds block time in a CryptoNote coin without a high orphan blocks rate.

Neither are good investments. Both are just good for Bitcoin as a sidechain. Grin has way too much inflation and Beam's team holds too much. Avoid both IMO unless you want minimal gains.
