There is an incredibly important difference between making a promise and setting a goal. You’ll find that one indicates that you will ‘try,’ while the other describes a commitment that you have made. In today’s video, I will explain how making promises to yourself is key to achieving any goal in life.

  1. Thanks Phil for explaining the difference between a goal and a promise. I like the idea of a promise because my goal when I was younger was to be a millionaire by the time I was 40. Guess what? I didn’t make my goal. My next goal was to be a millionaire by the time I’m 50. I am now going to change that and promise myself to be a millionaire instead of making it a goal.

  2. Phil, thanks for distinguishing this two important approaches. It's always definitely harder to make a promise because of responsibility that one take. Responsibility (obligation to do something) is what makes the difference. It is a really critical issue in success whatever one decides to achieve.
