"Technical analysis" can only predict trend directions/rates. Major run ups and dips are responses to world events, ergo relevant news is technical analysis in my opinion! More ICO regulation I think is a good thing because the best ICOs now require proof of address to invest, which Americans are unable to do unless they own homes in other countries. The recent trend here is massive value transfer from risky investments (bitconnect) to coins that have a roadmap. Sell on the way up, buy on the way down, don't personalize the market, and don't buy shit coins!

And Icon is a great example of how good news doesn't always make the price go up. if anything it's an example of "SELL THE NEWS". i bought ICON during its ICO and it was literally up 100x dollar value at one point. i exited out of 90% of my position after the annual summit and when i saw it break out it's support levels. and now it's probably going to do a correction for a couple of months until it starts a new market cycle.

Sure news is important but u gotta do some TA to know where to place your buys and sells. like if u placed it on Bitcoin's 200 daily MA you would have pretty much bought at the bottom.

So we are not close to the best point in the flippening ever seen, but we are getting closer again and this time without the same hype and FOMO, so there really is potential for it 🙂

I think you downplayed the importance of the trend of bitcoin with the big highs removed. Look at the dates from the point where the highs were first removed up until the end of the data set. There's something to be said there.
